Dear Bark Point Studio Supporters, Friends, & Family,
WOW, can you believe it has been TEN years!?
Many of you do so much for animals outside of sharing your home with them. I want to take this moment to thank each and everyone of you - every rescuer, transporter, foster parent, fundraiser, volunteer, vegan, adopter & more! It takes a community to do right by the animals of our nation and I'm so grateful for anyone who takes time for animals in need...
Since Bark Point Studio was founded, I've illustrated 43 books (many of which are linked to wonderful non-profit animal related causes), I've created thousands of portraits of your animal companions, had a few pieces in a Gallery downtown, fostered our first pup & successfully placed her, visited schools & libraries to read or instruct children about art & animals, I was appointed to my Local Environmental Commission & Green Team, & we now have 6 Rescue Puppies who are my world. ( @CurlyTailCrew )
This time of year is my favorite, its so nice to check in with many of you and have the honor of illustrating your holiday or Christmas Cards - I'm still taking orders, by the way!
Speaking of which, Kiba started it all for Bark Point Studio... Last year, we had to say goodbye to him. Kiba The Shiba is the dog in my logo, and he continues to be an inspiration behind a lot of my work. Losing him was incredibly hard, but with time I've been able to smile when I see his photos on my walls, or his likeness in the many books I've been sure to include him in.
Like many of you, I am sure, I wondered how to live in a changing world of pandemics, super storms, droughts & infestations (anyone else get hit with Japanese Lantern Flies this summer!?) - not to mention foreign wars & catastrophes... Does art really matter, in the face of all these things?
The answer has been with me, since I was 4 years old. No, art itself doesn't always carry weight - but sometimes the subject matter or message does. My subject has always been animals! Our companions, our family members. They are both a part of us and a part of nature. We need them, as much as they need us.
My steps towards making art have a greater impact on animal welfare has only just begun...
I think its about time I share & produce stories that are illustrated & written by Bark Point Studio... as the road to Peace Pointé continues. Stories that are rooted in my love of animals, and in my respect for animal people.
Thank you so much for every single one of you, I hope to hear back from you! Especially if you'd like to share news of a new rescue or family member, or are in need of a donation for an upcoming animal-welfare or rescue fundraiser!
Sincerely,
Morgan Spicer, Founder & Artist behind Bark Point Studio

Hi Reader Whether you've been a Bark Point Studio Subscriber for a few months, a few years, or even a decade, I am so excited to let you in on whats been going on behind the scenes here at Bark Point Studio!
